To the Revd the Minister of North Huish

  1. Residence, curate and lecturer: I have for some Time past resided in the Town of Modbury about four miles from the Parish of North Huish, Part of the Parsonage having been taken down in order to be rebuilt. It is now almost finish'd & I intend to reside there this Summer.

  2. Other benefices: I have the Perpetual Curacy of St: Petrox Dartmouth a small Church formerly a chapel of ease to the Rectory of Stoke Fleming but separated from it in order to enjoy the Benefit of Queen Anne's Bounty. It is serv'd once a Day by the Rev'd Mr Kennicott. The Salary arising from an Estate & Queen Anns Bounty is only £20 per annum.

  3. Divine service at other churches: I do not perform Divine Service at any Church besides my own, unless it be to help a Sick or absent Clergyman.

  4. Frequency of divine service: Divine Service is perform'd twice on the Lords Day with a Sermon in the morning & sometimes in the Afternoon.

  5. Frequency of communion: The Sacrament is administer'd four Times in the year to twenty Communicants or thereabout.

  6. Catechising of children: I have given notice to catechise the youth of the Parish on Trinity Sunday.

  7. Church fabric: Yes.

  8. Glebe terrier: I can find no Terrier of the Glebe Lands &c. I will therefore get one properly signed before ye Lordships Visitation.

  9. Number of families: About Forty.

  10. Chapels: There is no Chapel within the Parish.

  11. Papists, dissenters and meeting houses: There are no Papists or dissenting Congregations of any Denomination.

  12. School, alms-houses, hospital and charitable endowments: There is a private School in the Parish. Likewise an Alms-House appropriated to the Reception of poor People who are relieved by the Parish.

  13. Charity: There is an House & Field which is leas'd out for seven Pounds a year. It is under the management of Feoffees & duly applied to the Relief of such as have no constant Pay of the Parish.

    Priest's orders and institution: I was admitted into Priests orders on the twenty seventh of June 1768 & instituted to the Rectory of North Huish on the seventeenth of April 1771 Your Lordships Commands directed to the Minister of North Huish near Modbury will find yr Lordships most obedient Servt.
